First settled in Roman times, Boroughbridge is a centre for the history, scenic beauty, attractive villages, and leisure activities of North Yorkshire.
Adjacent to the A1M in North Yorkshire on the banks of the River Ure, yet just 2 minutes from junctions 48 & 49, Boroughbridge is an ancient and attractive market town with many attractions and amenities.

Visitors to the area will find Boroughbridge is ideally located as a centre for many local and regional attractions many of which can be found within a few minutes of the town centre itself.

The New Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Boroughbridge Town Council

At the Annual Meeting on 7th May 2024 the mayor making process installed a new Mayor for Boroughbridge Town Council. Cllr Hynes stepped down as mayor and a new mayor was elected. A vote of thanks from the council was given to Cllr Hynes for the commitment and hard work he has given to the town as mayor from 2022. The Deputy Mayor was also elected.
